Bring Hope, Emotional Intelligence, and Real-Life Resilience to Your Event
As a mother of a child with epilepsy, a women’s health nurse practitioner, and the co-author of Miles and the Colorful Capes of Feelings, I share a message that blends raw honesty, practical tools, and heart-centered storytelling.
For years, my son Miles endured seizures, medical emergencies, countless appointments, and a long journey toward clarity and stability. Our whole family entered a world we never expected—neurology visits, testing, medications, fear, bravery, and the deep emotional aftermath that no one prepares you for.
Along the way, I learned something powerful:
Kids don’t always have the words… but they always have feelings.
And those feelings need a place to land.
That is the heart of the Colorful Capes movement.

What I Speak About
→ Our Family’s Story: Living With Childhood Epilepsy

I discuss the emotional load parents carry, the guilt and overwhelm, and how to balance the needs of siblings who are also deeply affected by a child’s medical diagnosis.
→ Mental Health Impact on the Whole Family
